OSMOS Technology

As structures age, they fall into disrepair as a result of our harsh Canadian climate. The question for infrastructure owners is: how do we know the current health of our structures as they get older? The OSMOS technology provides real time information and alerts on the structural health of any type of building infrastructure.

Using a braided fibre optic technology, the OSMOS system continually monitors almost any type of structural element and provides instant feedback on the status of the asset. Designed to provide up to the second data on the strain induced on a structure, the OSMOS technology can monitor the structure from a remote location, all the time, and deliver valuable data via an internet dashboard accessible through a computer or smart phone. Not only can the system display or record a static or dynamic event on a structure, the OSMOS technology allows users to determine the effect that the event had on the structure being monitored.

OSMOS Advantages

The OSMOS system is more reliable and more robust than conventional measuring systems which are equipped with cause or effect sensors and which do not use fibre optics. It also offers a possibility of full scale monitoring.
